Songs to vote (early) to: 2022 edition

Happy Vote Early Day! Today – Oct. 28, 2022 – is a day to celebrate our ability to cast our ballots before Election Day, which is Nov. 8. A nonpartisan, national coalition of media companies, businesses, nonprofits, election administrators, and creatives are working to ensure all Americans have the tools to vote early.

In Nebraska, you can vote early two ways – via a mail-in ballot, which you can request in person at your county election commissioner’s office until 6 pm today, or via in-person early voting, which began across the state on Oct. 11 and will continue until Nov. 7. 

Early voting is good for our elections – it eases congestion on Election Day, which means shorter lines and a wider margin for error by poll workers. It provides election officials more time to correct registration errors and any glitches that may arise with our voting systems. It’s also very popular – in May, nearly half of Nebraska voters cast their primary ballot before May 10, Primary Election Day in Nebraska.
