New Americans Civic Leadership Academy

The Good Life is something we all own together. The New Americans Civic Leadership Academy fellows participate in monthly workshops that build civic knowledge and skills, empower organizing in communities, encourages civic activism, and works to get out the vote.

Civic Nebraska believes in creating civic pathways for all Nebraskans. As part of that mission, The New Americans Civic Leadership Academy brings immigrants and refugees together to ensure that our newest American neighbors can take part in and enjoy the benefits of our democracy. From September to April, Academy fellows participate in monthly workshops that build civic knowledge and skills. Program days range from Civic Health to the U.S. census to how to run for office, and one of the final program days is an advocacy day at the Nebraska State Capitol. The Academy is co-sponsored by Civic Nebraska and Lutheran Family Services of Nebraska.
