Figueroa JenniferJennifer Figueroa

Jennifer Figueroa, a returning Equal Justice Corps member, joins us from Grand Island, Nebraska. She is a student at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln where she is majoring in Advertising and Public Relations and minoring in Spanish and Communication Studies. Jennifer expects to graduate in May 2018. Jennifer has made the Dean’s List and has a four-year scholarship. Jennifer works out of Grand Island.

Fun Fact: Jennifer has had the opportunity to travel to her parent’s homeland of El Salvador and learn about her culture.

Schott Elizabeth Elizabeth Schott

Elizabeth Schott of Grand Island joins again as a returning Equal Justice Corps member. She is currently double majoring in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education with an endorsement in English as a Second Language at the University of Nebraska – Kearney. She expects to graduate in May 2019. While at the University of Nebraska, Elizabeth is a member of Kappa Delta Pi Honor Society, UNK Honors Program, and Co-President of the Elementary Education Club. Elizabeth is excited to work with Nebraska Civic Reform and Legal Aid of Nebraska again this summer to promote equal justice. Elizabeth works out of Grand Island.

Fun Fact: Elizabeth has just recently returned from three months abroad, where she was lucky enough to visit  7 different European countries.

Munoz LizElizabeth Munoz

Elizabeth grew up on a farm outside of McCook and was homeschooled. She graduated from the University of Nebraska Kearney with a double major in Spanish Translation and Interpretation and Economics and expects to graduate this fall with a Masters in Human Resource Management.  Elizabeth has worked for law enforcement for over two years and currently serves as the coordinator for an English as a Second language program. Her hope is to attend law school next year and practice immigration law. Elizabeth works out of Kearney.

Fun fact: Both of her dogs are German Shepherd rescues.

Lovato LeAnnLeAnn Lovato

LeAnn Lovato, our fellow in Western Nebraska, is a 41 year old wife and mom of a 16 year old son and a 4 year old daughter.  She works as an auction clerk and bookkeeper, and is a member of the Board of Education for Minatare Public Schools, where she herself graduated from way back in 1994.  Past work experiences for Mrs. Lovato include coaching high school cheerleading, writing and photographing for local newspapers, special education paraeducator, school administrative assistant and good ‘ol customer service.  She looks forward to this summer’s experience with Legal Aid and Civic Nebraska. LeAnn works out of Scottsbluff.

Fun Facts:  LeAnn sings and plays piano, guitar and ukulele.  She and her daughter collect Monster High Dolls and love scary movies and they wish every day was Halloween!
