Nicholette Seigfreid has joined Civic Nebraska as our first full-time human resources manager. Nicholette came to Civic Nebraska on Aug. 5 from Nebraska Appleseed.

Nicholette works closely with all members of our administrative team and plays a key role in ensuring a positive and successful work environment for our staff. She assists with hiring, onboarding, employee benefits administration, employee relations, and annual reviews. Nicholette also manages the internship program and our volunteer database, and contributes to professional development planning.

Nicholette Seigfreid

An alumna of the University of Arkansas, where she earned degrees in anthropology and Middle Eastern studies, Nicholette has lived across the United States. That includes stays in New York, Miami, Colorado, and Minneapolis. She has lived in Lincoln for 15 years.

In addition to her work at Civic Nebraska, Nicholette is an administrator at the Lincoln Jewish Community School and is vice president of the South Street Temple. She is also a certified diversity and inclusion trainer with Inclusive Communities.

Nicholette says she is drawn to nonprofit work by the Jewish concept of tikkun olam, which is working individually and collectively to perfect or repair the world. It is often used when discussing issues of social policy, insuring a safeguard to those who may be at a disadvantage.

For me, it is deeply important to do work that moves us toward a time of prosperity, health, and justice for all,” Nicholette says. “Civic Nebraska’s emphasizes the word all in its motto and works hard to achieve that vision. I’m so pleased to be joining a great staff and supporting our charge.”

Nicholette has worked and volunteered with several organizations, including Nebraska AppleseedLeadership LincolnAmnesty InternationalThe Center for Popular Democracy and Foster Care Alumni of America. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, reading, and travel. She is the proud parent of two children and three cats.

Help us welcome Nicholette to Civic Nebraska. She’s at nicholette.seigfreid@civicnebraska.org.
