Presidential Platform Challenge

Students are asked to submit a type written platform of no more than 1,000 words. The entry will be judged on the student’s ability to articulate issues, suggest solutions, and argue for their position in a well organized fashion. A digital video of the student reading their presidential platform will also be required.

Two students will each win a $1,000 scholarship to the post secondary institution of their choice. 

These two students will participate in  ‘Presidential Debate’ . The debate will use a question and answer formate with political writers from Nebraska newspapers asking the questions. The winner of the recorded debate will win an additional $1,000 scholarship.

Entries are due no later than midnight October 15, 2016

Entries must include the student’s name, address, phone number, school district and email (if available).

Each student’s own platform cannot quote directly from the two major party platforms but can discuss issues that pertain to one or both platforms.
