Pam Hinson, recipient of the Outstanding Educator Award, has shown remarkable initiative in her role as an after school instructor at Sherman Elementary School in Omaha. Kent Day, Director of Civic Engagement Programs, had this to say about Hinson, “For the past two years she has worked with groups of the most challenging students in Omaha and has changed their lives.  She has sacrificed evenings and weekends so that underserved students could go to Nebraska City, or see the Harlem Dance Troupe at the Orpheum Theater. She has taken a personal interest in her students and instills in them the spirit of serving the community they live in.  She is an artist, a teacher, and a mentor and Civic Nebraska is proud to have her as a partner.”

Congratulations to Pam Hinson, recipient of the 2016 Outstanding Educator award! Join us in celebrating Pam’s achievements at the 2016 Strengthening Democracy Awards, held on March 31st, 2016 at Chez Hay in Lincoln. Buy your tickets here.
