Curated civic resources that enrich civic learning for middle school students

Digital Citizen Lessons

Curated by Civic Nebraska, our Curriculum Library has easy links to K-8 enrichment on civics and citizenship.

Meet the Helpers

Many children have questions and can feel uneasy when emergencies occur in their communities. The Meet the Helpers toolkit is designed to introduce “helpers” and explain the role they play in emergency situations.

United States Map jigsaw puzzle

A colorful puzzle to stimulate interest in the geography of America. It’s a fun way for younger children to learn and memorize all of our nation’s states and capitals. Each state is uniquely colored and decorated.

Kid Citizen: Community Helpers

Community Helpers using a photo of a man delivering ice to a school over 120 years ago. You will see the clothes they wear, their horses, and you will see how they are community helpers.

Encouragement and Inclusion

Students see local Nebraskans read books aloud on video. Each book discusses an element of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
