Service Learning Center of Excellence

A hub for professional development, resources, and information about service-learning projects in Greater Nebraska.

Launched in 2020 and administered by Civic Nebraska, The Service Learning Center of Excellence is a physical and virtual hub for professional development, resources, and information about service-learning projects in Greater Nebraska in the out-of-school-time space. Funded by Beyond School Bells and the Mott Foundation, the center coaches student groups through the service-learning process to benefit communities across Nebraska and create new leaders among Nebraska youth.

This is how we do it!

In this four-part video series, learn about the elements of quality service learning; understand its meaningful and lasting effects on the community and young learners; consider what it will take to conceive, plan, and launch a service-learning project; and then, get busy!
This collaboration creates a physical and virtual hub for professional development, experiential activities, and community engagement for students, educators, and after-school professionals to plan and implement service learning in the after-school space.
The Center of Excellence gives all stakeholders the opportunity to do meaningful work to support and improve their communities.
