2018: 'We Are'

This all began as a straightforward idea: A modern and robust democracy does not create itself. It takes Nebraskans young and old equipped with the skills and prepared to get involved in their community. A democracy is not responsive if it is not representative, and that’s why the right to vote stands above all others — and if the right to cast a ballot is not protected, our democracy has limited legitimacy. That idea led to a vision, that vision became a plan, and that plan became a reality.

2019: 'All Rise'

We believe all means all. We believe that we’re all in it together. We believe democracy is not a spectator sport. We believe that building an engaged and informed society takes hard work – and so we do that work. And we believe that when one of us rises, we all rise. Civic Nebraska stands for these beliefs in our streets, our schools, our neighborhoods, and in the halls of government.

2020: 'Stand Fast'

For meaningful progress, we must stand together in mutual responsibility. We must stand out and create the world we imagine. We must stand guard to protect democracy. And most of all, we must stand with purpose. We must stand fast.

2021: 'Reclaiming WE'

Civic Nebraska places its faith in the time-honored idea that a modern and robust democracy takes all of us owning issues together, holding ourselves mutually accountable, putting sincere trust in one another, and acting for the common good. These things are old and powerful. They are in our national DNA, and they have been with us since the Founding. Together, they create the American we, and they’re waiting for us – all of us – to reclaim them.

2022: 'Dare Mighty Things'

Together, we are facing a momentous test of American resolve. But this test isn’t new. Generations before us in times of war and strife and unrest also asked: Should this go on, this thing of ours? Can we push past our fears and take up the work to remake America again? Can we, as a people, still make this nation what it was meant to be?

2023: 'Loud & Clear'

Democracy must be loud. As the will of the people, it cannot endure in silence. Democracy must also be clear. It compels us to hold ourselves and others accountable, especially in times of disruption and clamor. Nebraskans count on Civic Nebraska to guide them on the path to a more modern, robust democracy, and we take on this duty by empowering connection, building understanding, and cultivating advocacy. Civic Nebraska is a potent signal amid the noise.
