The Advocacy Manager will travel throughout Nebraska to educate voters and identify politically diverse Nebraskans who can support the passage of a nonpartisan ballot initiative. Building a strong and politically diverse grassroots infrastructure will be key to this campaign. This role requires 70% travel but in addition to building networks in communities around Nebraska, the Advocacy Manager occasionally shares office space at Civic Nebraska’s Lincoln HQ. The Advocacy Manager will report directly to the Public Policy Director.
As our advocacy manager, you will get to
- Identify politically diverse supporters/volunteers and campaign leads in 40 counties across the state
- Educate and organize Nebraskans on the benefits of the open primary system
- Recruit volunteer and paid signature collectors across the state
- Assist with townhall and event logistics, including ensuring politically diverse turnout
- Attend key county fairs and the state fair for volunteer recruitment and visibility
- Help create a politically diverse statewide grassroots steering committee
- Create talking points for volunteers, advocates, and signature collectors
- Elevate the voices of Nebraskans via earned media
- Assist with campaign compliance and filings

Salary & Benefits
The rate of compensation is $29 per hour. Benefit options include medical, vision, and dental insurance coverage, employer paid at 80%. This is a full-time, temporary position funded through December 31, 2023.
