The Sister Project art display

April 1 @ 8:00 am - April 7 @ 5:00 pm

Civic Nebraska and the Nebraska Writers Collective partnered to provide civic mentorship to the 2023-24 Nebraska Youth Poet Laureate, Aliyah American Horse. Aliyah chose a civic project to bring attention to the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women Movement through the power of words and art.
The top three student submissions chosen by a judging panel are being recognized during a reception in the State Capitol rotunda. Their submissions and additional information regarding the MMIW Movement are being displayed Monday, April 1, through Sunday, April 7, during Capitol hours.
