Save the date: Strengthening Democracy 2020 is May 14

Civic Nebraska's 2020 Strengthening Democracy Awards will return to The DelRay Ballroom in Lincoln.

by

Each year, our Strengthening Democracy Awards honor Nebraskans whose work in our communities builds up our democratic institutions and civic life. We dedicate our annual event to celebrating and recognizing these community leaders, who come in all ages and from a range of backgrounds.

We’re eager to share the stage with our 2020 honorees from 5 to 7 p.m. on May 14 at The DelRay Ballroom, 817 R St. in Lincoln. Save the date now to join us on this inspiring evening!

We’re doubly excited to announce this year’s keynote speaker. Amber McReynolds is the CEO of the National Vote At Home Institute and Coalition and also is co-author of When Women Vote. In her work, Amber has found that designing pro-voter policies, voter-centric processes, and implementing technical innovations improve representation for all voters. Amber’s organization has been a great national partner for our pro-voter work in Nebraska.

Ticket information is coming soon, and we’ll announce our 2020 honorees in April. Until then, here’s a look back at our 2019 Strengthening Democracy Award winners. Enjoy!
