Judge Stephanie F. Stacy was appointed to the Nebraska Supreme Court in 2015, making her the third newest justice on the court.  Judge Stacy holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and graduated with distinction from the University of Nebraska College of Law. Prior to sitting on the Supreme Court bench, she served as a judge in the Lancaster County District Court. She drew upon her nearly twenty years of private practice at Baylor Evnen and her time clerking for a US District Court judge. Judge Stacy was also an Adjunct Faculty member at UNL Law, teaching Trial Advocacy and Pretrial Litigation.
Over the course of her career as a lawyer, Judge Stacy has received the Exceptional Performance Citation from the Nebraska Defense Counsel Association. She has also been peer nominated to national honoraries including the American Board of Trial Advocates, International Association of Defense Counsel, and the Litigation Counsel of America.
We’re thrilled to award Judge Stacy with the Outstanding Civic Health Partner for her work with our Capitol Experience Day students, where she often provides a dynamic perspective of the judicial branch of state government. Her presentations are met with increased interest from students, and great questions. We appreciate the time Judge Stacy makes in her schedule to connect with young leaders throughout the state.
