Volunteer Spotlight: Sarah Wagelie

by

It’s National Volunteer Week and we’re highlighting some of the incredible volunteers that make Civic Nebraska possible. Read their story and learn more about how you can get involved.

Sarah Wagelie is a phone banking superstar! An Omaha native, Sarah is passionate about politics because she believes that policy can be used to better people’s lives. Sarah is someone that we at Civic Nebraska can always depend on to show up and help out.

Dialing 600 first-time and newly registered voters, Sarah was instrumental to the success of our voter engagement efforts in the 2016 general election. When Douglas County released its list of voters whose ballots were rejected due to a missing signature, Sarah called over 150 voters to alert them of the problem and walked them through their options to  ensure that their ballot was counted.

Sarah continues to be a great volunteer for Civic Nebraska, making time to help with anything she can. If you’d like to help with getting out the vote for the Lincoln and Omaha municipal elections on May 2nd and 9th respectively, you can contact our Voting Rights Organizer Kinzie Mabon at kinzie.mabon@civicnebraska.org to see how you can help!
