A pandemic can’t stop Lincoln from speaking up for affordable housing! Join Collective Impact Lincoln on Zoom at 5 pm today [May 13] for an affordable housing information session. We will discuss the draft of the City of Lincoln’s Affordable Housing Coordinated Action Plan.
“We want to ensure residents have an understanding of the plan and how it affects their housing situation,” said Nancy Petitto, Collective Impact Lincoln’s program manager.
Collective Impact Lincoln is a partnership between Civic Nebraska, Nebraska Appleseed and the South of Downtown Community Organization. It creates lasting, meaningful, resident-led investment and positive change in Lincoln’s core neighborhoods. Through canvassing, community events, and Community Builder Workshops, they help neighborhoods examine their communities’ natural strengthens and identify new ways to improve.
While we had hoped to have the session in person, the continued concern over the spread and impact of COVID-19 changed our plans. Still, it is essential that the discussion of affordable housing in Lincoln continues. Issues in our community don’t stop because of a pandemic – and neither does our work.
“It’s difficult for individuals to know exactly how to engage with policy advocacy during this time, so we want to do anything we can to make that possible,” Petitto said.
