On #GivingTuesdayNow, donate to democracy

On #GivingTuesdayNow, we encourage you to donate to democracy by making a gift to Civic Nebraska.

Giving Tuesday is a global generosity movement in the belief that people and organizations have the power to transform communities. Usually, #GivingTuesday is a late-fall event – the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. But today, May 5, 2020, is #GivingTuesdayNow, a response to the unprecedented need nonprofits face as a result of COVID-19.

Community connection, civic involvement, and faith in our institutions is paramount, especially now. At Civic Nebraska, our work is centered on the idea of Nebraskans coming together to strengthen their communities and strengthening democracy.

Amid the pandemic, we continue to provide students – and adults – with essential tools to be engaged, informed, critically thinking members of society. On May 4, we launched CIVIC U., our virtual learning hub for Nebraskans from age 6 to 106 to hone their engagement skills. And on May 14, we will host Strengthening Democracy 2020, a virtual Q&A on YouTube Live about the Nebraska Primary and voting rights.

Protecting and strengthening our democracy doesn’t stop. Our work is vital to our communities and our state – and we can’t do it without your support. On this #GivingTuesdayNow, you can donate to democracy by supporting Civic Nebraska. Thank you for your kind support!
