Lincoln native Aneisha Brown, who has devoted her career to building healthy kids and strong communities, is Civic Nebraska’s school community coordinator at our Campbell Elementary Community Learning Center. She began in the role earlier this month.

Aneisha Brown is Civic Nebraska’s School Community Coordinator at the Campbell Elementary Community Learning Center.

As the leader of the Campbell CLC, Aneisha is an advocate for youth, families, and the neighborhood served by the north-central Lincoln school. She also oversees staff and direct-service programs related to after-school and community programs that serve Campbell youth and families.

“I am so excited to join Civic Nebraska, to create community partnerships, and to bring new and useful opportunities and resources to the students and families in the neighborhood that we serve,” Aneisha said. “I believe everyone in the community has a voice and it is important to give them a space to use it.”

Aneisha’s professional experience has positioned her perfectly to lead the Campbell CLC After attending the University of Nebraska and focusing on elementary education, she was a lead supervisor at Lincoln’s F Street Community Center for five years. There, she worked with the drop-in program for middle- and high schoolers, as well as with the after-school, kids’ day off, and summer day-camp programs with elementary-age students.

This previous school year, Aneisha lent her talents to the Don Sherrill Education Center, the local behavioral program for elementary students.

“During my time at Don Sherrill I gained a lot of knowledge on working with a variety of students and leading them to be successful,” she said.

Outside of work, Aneisha loves to spend time with her daughter Maya, 3; to hang out with friends and family; and to shop and listen to music. Aneisha also volunteers her time with We Can Do This, an organization that provides meals to young people in Lincoln.

Please join us in welcoming Aneisha to Civic Nebraska and to the Campbell CLC community! She’s at aneisha.brown@civicnebraska.org. To learn more about Civic Nebraska’s Youth Civic Leadership programs, click here.
